TMJ
Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ) is a serious ailment and can cause great pain with serious repercussions to your health. TMJ can cause headaches, problems locking or opening the jaw, pain in the face, ears, or jaw joints, swelling, and a host of other negative effects. There are a number of treatments to alleviate TMJ, and Dr. Ogawa is highly experienced in treating patients with TMJ symptoms. The worst thing you can do is to ignore the pain. Root Canal
Most people hear the term “root canal” and they immediately wince in fear. But the fact is, root canals are a very common procedure and most patients find it relatively painless with only mild discomfort afterwards. Sometimes, bacteria can infect the thin nerves within a tooth and cause very acute symptoms. Those nerves (or pulp) can eventually break down and die, taking the tooth with them. During a root canal, Dr. Ogawa will reshape or remove the damaged pulp, and fill the pulp canal with root canal sealer. Then, a crown can be fitted to the tooth for long-term application. The procedure is generally performed under local anesthetic, and usually takes no more than two office visits.
Crowns
Cracks, chips, stains, and other problems with your teeth can be corrected with a dental crown. Often known as "caps", crowns are made to fit right over the tooth, reinforcing it and making it much more aesthetically pleasing. Crowns are strong and durable, and protect the tooth from injury. Plus, there are a variety of crown materials available in order to meet the different requirements of each patient.
Bridges
Bridges restore the gaps created by missing teeth. If you have one or more missing teeth, or natural gaps between your teeth, a bridge can correct the problem by filling the space with an artificial tooth. These durable, natural-looking wonders can not only brighten your smile, they can also help with chewing and any speaking problems that may have resulted from missing teeth, not to mention the fact that it may just feel a whole lot more comfortable than it did before!
